This is how I'd classify myself – Global Digital leader and technology evangelist by profession, a travel fanatic, sports enthusiast, and a family person.
I am a senior executive, dynamic digital strategist and revenue-driver with a passion for digital technologies, product innovation and creating compelling consumer brand experiences. Equal parts business strategist and tactician, I am a high-energy leader in digital transformation and technology enablement. I’ve built a successful track record in VP and CDO positions across Retail, Media and Consumer Tech with some of most influential companies, including IKEA, CNN, Weather Company, Overstock.com and NZ Herald in New Zealand
In 2019, I joined IKEA USA organization as Chief Digital Officer (reporting to the CEO of IKEA USA) to inspire and lead teams to drive innovation, adopt sustainable and accessible business models, and digitally transform. I have executive responsibility and accountability to oversee the full range of digital strategies & investments to drive business growth, gain market share, enhance customer experience, optimize operations, and drive change across the organization. One of my top priorities is to invest in talent and building digital competence. I lead a team of 300+ experts across product management, UX, technology, data analysts and operations.
With a bold vision to attain grow/scale digital channels of IKEA, and own top 5 market share in 3 years, today, after 1 year of running we have huge strides in growing and transforming IKEA. Strong top line and bottom line sets us up on a great platform to achieve the bold vision. The other half of my responsibility spans modernizing the infrastructure and technology across 52 stores resulting in an enriched customer experience. 2020 has been a great year for the retail industry due to COVID and consumer behavior shift. Transformed 52 IKEA stores as Fulfilment and Delivery centers to manage the increase in demand and faster processing of customer orders, enabled click & collect and Click & Deliver from store
Transformed customer support center operations through self-service capabilities, remote management, chat services, and SalesForce integration
Launched new web experience and IKEA Mobile apps to acquire and provide a seamless experience connecting physical and digital environments

In 2017, I joined Overstock.com (one of the top e-retailers in USA) as VP of Digital Product and Technology. Reporting to Chief Digital Officer, I’ve had the pleasure of building and leading teams of 150+ talented people (product, technology, and data) who are interested in changing world using technology and e-commerce. Two huge problems I'd helped to solve: 1) Create/build the best customer shopping experiences and services, and 2) Build a unique loyalty program to retain and grow high CLV customers.
Championed the development of new digital products, optimized the supply chain infrastructure for efficiency, set up marketing tech capabilities to reach and engage customers, directed big data, applied artificial intelligence & machine learning, CAC & CLV modeling, collaborated with leadership to identify business drivers, invest and successfully execute key initiatives
In 2014 I had just moved to USA to accelerate my career growth within product and technology space. I began to work at The Weather Company as Global Head of Digital Product and Technology to lead and define global strategic direction, build & expand audiences, identify business opportunities, establish partnerships, advertising & b2b data products, drive innovation, and align investments with strategic goals to position for competitive growth. Led the launch of weather.com and mobile apps to 178 countries, 67 languages, growing international digital consumers to 200M+ in 2 years and revenue to $100M+ within 3 years
Drove the investment, strategy & execution of weather’s Global Infrastructure - delivering billions of real-time forecasts & alerts globally via seamless distributed-platform technology

Before moving to USA, I had began my career in New Zealand. I was equal part intrapreneur and entrepreneur. As an intrapreneur, I led digital transformation for APN News and Media from print publications to digital platforms. Promoted twice in 3 years, (from product manager to Head of Product Management) with increased responsibilities from leading an entire nzherald.co.nz product across Web, mobile and Apps. Also, led core media publishing and content infrastructure product services for APN’s 30+ properties and media partners. Led several market and industry first product and platform launches such as iPhone App, iPad App, mobile web, responsive web, etc. I was with APN News and Media for almost 7 years, I had an amazing career but needed to accelerate my growth and build products and solve business problems for larger organization. I decided to move to USA and re-start my career in a new country.
As an entrepreneur, I co-founded and served as CPO of Zimpact in New Zealand, a real-time audience and marketing effectiveness software platform, later acquired by YPG.
Throughout my career, I've pioneered multiple breakthrough industry solutions and companies, garnering a reputation as a visionary product and business leader. I speak and instruct frequently at Product School - sharing my experiences to a new generation of budding Product management professionals. I have received numerous awards, to name a few 2013 - Best Innovation in New Technology, 2018 & 2019 - Best Mobile App for Overstock.com, Webby Honoree, etc
